Baton Rouge Roofing Some roofing companies in Baton Rouge don't use metal in the valleys at all, and just use laced shingles alone over the roofs valleys. I Personally seal up all roof vent pipe boots, using a special product called geocell which is a poymer based elastomeric product. It stays flexible and is used under and around the boots,and under the shingles. These are a common source of roofing leaks, I SLEEP GOOD AT NIGHT KNOWING I HAVE SEALED THESE UP MYSELF!
Also, I use the aluminum metal base roof boots. Why? Because the rubber seal that surrounds vent pipe going up through roofing is softer and higher quality In my opinion, they last much longer before the rubber can dry rot and split as opposed to the cheaper plastic base roof boots which are half the cost.
